The top consists of a 5mm thick piece of polished edge smoked glass, inset within a brass angle frame, raised in four finely reeded turned legs and baluster sections, terminating on elegant pad feet. The brass legs are united at 45 degrees by a slatted brass pot board below, which is useful for storing magazine or other similar items. The Georgian style brass coffee table displays a lovely mellow aged finish to the brass frame. This brass coffee table is very well constructed and heavy to list, which is always a sign of quality.

History of Neoclassical Architecture & Furniture:
Furniture design during the 18th and early 19th century was heavily inspired by Greek architecture and became one of the most prominent architectural styles in the Western world and this was reflected in the design of furniture during this period. The prevailing styles of architecture in most of Europe for the previous two centuries, Renaissance architecture and Baroque architecture, already represented partial revivals of the Classical architecture of ancient Rome and ancient Greek architecture, but the Neoclassical movement aimed to strip away the excesses of Late Baroque and return to a purer, more complete, and more authentic classical style, adapted to modern purposes.
