Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Victorian Gothic carved solid oak hall bench, circa 1880, in excellent original condition. The bench comprises of an elegant shaped back with a circular carved central panel flanked by sweeping fretwork scroll foliage. The seat itself features a carved moulded edge. Below, the recessed frieze incorporates detailed draped lunette carvings, interspersed with flowers above multiple Gothic arches. The two front legs are profusely carved with foliage and terminate on carved paw feet. The design and carvings seen on this bench have been taken from the 16th century period. This item features a lovely rich dark oak colour.

Condition Report:
This carved oak bench is in excellent condition, having been constructed from solid oak. Nominal old use marks to the top of the seat and leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no missing carvings or breaks to the bench. The bench features a lovely rich dark oak colour. This item is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
