This is a very good quality antique adjustable William IV rosewood and leather adjustable circular stool, circa 1835, which would most likely have been used as a piano stool. The stool features an elegant red leather studded seat, which is stuffed with traditional horsehair filling. The seat can be raised or lowered (by 9m) with rotating the seat on a central steel threaded screw, which is situated below the seat. Below the seat, there is a turned and fluted carved central pillar, which is connected by thee carved down swept legs. This is a top quality and very solid stool this is very functional as it consumes very little space. It is rare to see stools constructed with such quality and it makes this stool quite rare.
This stool features a rich warm brown rosewood colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
