Description:
This is a fine quality antique Anglo-Indian Victorian colonial teak and brass campaign chest / trunk, circa 1870, in good original condition. The chest features a teak outer frame, boasting brass banding to the front, sides and rear. The chest also features the original outer lock (with working key), which is in good working order, and the original shaped brass key escutcheon. The is designed to be supported against a wall when opened. The interior of the chest comprises a single-plank floor. The sides of the box are decorated with the original iron carrying handles mounted to iron side straps. The chest is raised on small bracket feet. It would make an ideal coffee table or ottoman at the foot of the bed.
The box features a rich warm brown teak colour. The chest has been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard.

This is a fine quality antique Anglo-Indian Victorian colonial teak and brass campaign trunk, circa 1870, in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the exterior and leading edges of the box, including the interior but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chest has been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. There are no missing brass sections to the chest. The chest retains its original working lock, with working key. The original brass hinges are also in good working order. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
