This is a good quality pair of Charles II style oak carved hall / stand chair originating from the Lancashire region, which have been constructed from early 17th century panels & timbers during the late Victorian period, circa 1880. The chair, which is constructed of walnut, features, a very pretty carved floral crown flanked by turned vertical spindles to the back. The seat features a round turning to the centre. Below, the chair is supported by elegant “pear-shape” turned bobbin legs, which are connected by double stretchers for added strength. The chairs boast a stunning colour.
The chair features a rich dark brown colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This chair is in excellent condition. The chair has been constructed from early 17th century timbers during the late Victorian period (circa 1880). There is no damage to the frame or breaks to the legs. The frames and arms are also in excellent condition with no splits or lose movements. Excellent colour. The chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. Free of active woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
