Here is a fine quality antique English Art Deco burr walnut chest of drawers, circa 1930, in good original condition. The chest of drawers benefits from three small drawers above five larger graduated drawers below (this is a more sought after design compared to the usual two over four drawer design). Featuring a lovely thumb moulded top, the top of the chest boasts stunning quarter panel burr walnut veneers. Further stunning mirror matched burr walnut veneers are present on the drawer fronts. The drawers retain their original metal serpentine shaped reeded handles, with the original bakelite escutcheons. The drawers are constructed with dovetailed joints using mahogany drawer linings. Below, the chest sits its original bracket feet. This piece boasts classic art deco styling throughout; this is evident in the overall design of the curved corners, stepped design, clean lines, the handles and the feet.
The chest of drawers features a golden mellow walnut art deco colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
