Description:
This is an impressive and stunning quality antique Art Deco cloud shaped burr walnut cocktail bar drinks cabinet, circa 1930, in excellent original condition, originally purchased from Harrods, London. It is rare to come across cocktail cabinets of this quality. The drinks cabinet, which boasts a classic “cloud shape” design, features a top and bottom section. The top section comprises four bow shaped doors, which retain the original handles, escutcheon, working lock and key. Inside, the cabinet retains the original mirror lined interior, comprising two central removable shelves. There is a small electrical tube light in the top section, which is wired through the back of the cabinet. The light automatically turns on when the doors are opened and switches off when the doors are shut. The cabinet has been newly re-wired & PAT tested with a new U.K electrical plug. The door features the original cocktail shaker bottle and six cocktail sticks. There are additional holders, to house other cocktail making accessories. The central section is flanked by two quarter circle glass lined cupboards, each with two removable glass shelves. Below the central sections is a pullout glass mirrored shelf, which is perfect for standing the glasses on to mix the cocktails! The section below also has two lockable bow shaped doors, which open outwards to house a drinks cabinet base where bottles can be stored in the round cut out base. Above this, is a mahogany shelf comprising two drawers. The central section is flanked by two quarter circle cupboards, which incorporate two shelves. The doors retain their original locking catches. The base rests on a cloud shaped moulded step plinth. The cabinet splits into two sections for ease of movement and access into the house.
The cabinet boasts a classic golden burr walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway to the living room or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
