Here is a fine quality antique Victorian and earlier, oak king size (5ft wide) four poster bed, circa 1860, incorporating earlier 17th century period timbers, in the style of Charles II period, showing exceptional workmanship and colour, in excellent condition. The bed has been constructed in the style of a bed from the mid to late 17th century (Charles II period). The headboard is constructed of 12 inset panels within a reeded frame. This panel design is replicated in the design of the recessed panel roof and panel footboard. An elegant scalloped carved frieze encapsulated the panelled roof, supported by two square tapered front posts that stand on block legs, with a low footboard. The footboard and side rails feature a primitive reeded design. This bed fits a standard a standard king size mattress (5ft” wide x 6ft 3” long), as pictured in the photos, and boasts a stunning rich mid brown oak colour.
The bed dismantles into sections and panels for ease of transport, access into a house and assembly. The headboard and roof are single pieces sections.

This bed is handmade from early English oak timbers (hence the rich warm colour). The design, build quality and superstructure (thickness of panels) are of superior and exceptional quality. It is an extremely heavy bed!

This bed is in excellent condition. It is an extremely well constructed, heavy, solid and very stable bed. There are no veneers on this bed either; it is made of solid oak. The bed boasts an exquisite panelled headboard and roof, un-paralleled in terms of detail, intricacy and quality. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. This bed is handmade from early English oak period timbers (hence the rich warm colour). This bed is of superior quality compared to other beds in the market place today. It is solid in joint and ready to use.
