The chair seat incorporates a top-quality full grain sage green leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The chair stands on its original beech legs and features replacement fine quality English made solid brass castors. The chair incorporates a revolving cast iron mechanism and it rotates 360 degrees. The seat also reclines, but is not height adjustable – many Victorian and early Edwardian office chairs were constructed this way. The chair mechanism has been serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair frame is sturdy and the item is extremely comfortable to sit on, as it features a lovely leather seat and is in excellent overall condition.

Condition Report:
This Edwardian solid beech and leather swivel office chair and mechanism are in excellent condition, considering its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The green leather seat is in in good clean condition and there are no missing brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter. The cast iron revolving & tilt mechanism is in good working order. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The beech chair frame joints have been checked and glued where necessary to ensure it is solid in joint. The chair boasts a lovely rich colour and patination, having been cleaned and professionally French polished, by hand, in our workshop.
