Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Georgian oak occasional side table, circa 1800, displaying a lovely mellow colour, in excellent condition. The table incorporates a twin-plank top, with ovolo-moulded edge, above two working drawers, incorporating later brass swan neck handles & shaped escutcheons. The handles were probably added during Victorian times. The pine-lined drawers are constructed with fine hand dovetail joints and the drawer fronts are decorated with cock beading. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The table stands on four tapering block legs. The table retains the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional manner for that period. Ideal for use a side table in a hallway, or even a small writing desk. The desk is solid in joint and ready to use.
The table boasts a lovely mellow oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the hallway, or useful as a writing table. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
