Description:
This is a fine quality antique Regency style 4ft 6” wide mahogany leather library desk table, circa 1820, in good condition. The writing table incorporates a moulded top with a fine quality gold tooled sage green leather. Below, the writing table comprises a pair of hand dovetailed drawers, which feature mahogany lining and quarter beading (a sign of quality). The drawers also retain their original wooden turned knobs, as well as their original working locks, with a working key. At the right-hand corner of the writing table, just under the moulded top, there is a brass label stamped with the number “7032”. The table is raised on later adapted legs, which incorporate rectangular columns, supported by splayed legs which terminate on solid brass lion paw toes and castors.
The item features a superb rich mahogany red-brown colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would complement any home, office or library and is ideal as either a library table writing table, large desk or as a decorative table behind a sofa in the living room. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture!

Condition Report:
This Regency library table is in good overall condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the table and to the fine quality leather (see photos) but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The table features a fine quality gold tooled sage green leather. Although not the original leather, there is some age to it and therefore there are old use marks visible (see photos). The turned knobs to the drawers are original, as are the drawer locks, which come with a working key. The drawers are mahogany lined, quarter beaded and hand dovetailed; which is a further sign of quality. The drawers are in good working order and close flush to the frame. The table is raised on later adapted legs, which incorporate rectangular columns, supported by splayed legs, terminate on solid brass lion paw toes and castors – the advertised price reflects this point. This table is solid in joint and ready to use.
