Description:

Comprising of a bow-shaped back within a reeded frame, there sits a large upholstered buttoned back, therefore the chair is extremely comfortable to sit on. The upholstered back can be removed for cleaning, by un-screwing the two brass screws in the horizontal bars in the back of the chair. The back is supported by finely reeded down-swept arms, with wider arm supports at the end. The arms are supported by a bank of ring-turned bulbous spindles uniting the seat frame. The chair has been upholstered at some point in the past in a tan-brown leather, with a buttoned back above an upholstered drop-in seat, finished with decorative piping. The seat can therefore be removed for cleaning if necessary. The library chairs on ring-turned legs to the front, with sweeping legs to the rear, terminating on old replacement brass castors.
The chair boasts a rich brown mahogany colour. The chair has been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard, coupled with years of care and cleaning it has received.
