Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency solid mahogany Canterbury magazine rack, circa 1830, in excellent original condition. The Canterbury comprises an outer frame with turned column supports at each corner, capped with small finials. The Canterbury is divided into three compartments, by three rows of simple, straight supports, each row topped with a curved horizontal bar. The compartments are ideal for storing magazines, newspapers or music sheets. Below is a drawer, which features old replacement brass knobs (likely to have been replaced during the Victorian period) and is mahogany lined, constructed with hand dovetailing. The Canterbury is raised on its original turned legs which retain the original brass castor collars and wheels. The Canterbury has been constructed from the finest mahogany timbers.
The Canterbury features a gorgeous rich mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look great in the living room, hallway or bedroom of any house. This item would complement any home, so don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
