Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Georgian Regency mahogany side table, circa 1810, displaying a lovely rich colour, in excellent original condition. The table boasts a single plank top (quite rare to see), above a pair of flush working drawers. The drawers retain the original brass Regency oval handles & escutcheons and are decorated with satinwood inlay. The oak-lined drawers are constructed with hand dovetail joints and decorated with cock-beaded fronts. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. Below, the table features a straight apron, decorated with satinwood inlay frieze. The table is raised on four straight tapering block legs. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional joined manner for that period. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
This item features a lovely rich mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This Regency side table would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room to the hallway, or useful as a writing table. The table would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
