Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Queen Anne style walnut full length floor standing cheval mirror, constructed during the Edwardian period, circa 1910 – 1920, in excellent working condition.
Incorporating a straight mahogany frame, the rectangular mirror can be adjusted to suit your preferred viewing angle. The back of the mirror retains its original backboard. The item retains the original mirror, which is in very good condition, considering its age, showing some minor old use marks, with minimal foxing (see photos). Brass drop handles, which control the angle adjustment when turned, also serve to secure the mirror frame to the turned side supports. The side supports also boast elegant turned finials to the top. The vertical supports raise up from a sturdy base, which features a shaped stretcher. The base is raised on shaped cabriole legs.
The cheval mirror boasts a rich mellow walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The item would look superb in several rooms from the hallway to the bedroom. The mirror would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
