This is a good quality antique English Victorian oak pedestal desk, comprising a pale tan leather top on twin pedestals, circa 1880, in excellent original condition.The Victorian oak pedestal desk incorporates a moulded top, which retains the original pale tan inset leather with elegant gold tooling. The top section comprises 3 drawers, including a wider central drawer, with a further three drawers to each pedestal, a total of 9 drawers. The drawer faces are designed with straight fronts, retaining their original oak turned knobs. The drawers are constructed with hand-dovetail joints, with mahogany linings and quarter beading (a sign of quality). All the drawers retain their original working brass lever locks. The Victorian oak pedestal desk comes with a working key. The pedestals sit on their original moulded plinths, with working castors, allowing the desk to be moved. The Victorian oak pedestal desk is freestanding which means it can be situated in the centre of the room. The desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy transport and access into the home or office. This Victorian oak pedestal desk boasts a stunning golden oak colour, having been cleaned and French polished in our workshop.

This is a good quality antique English Victorian oak pedestal desk, comprising a pale tan leather top on twin pedestals, circa 1880, in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desktop frame, pedestals and plinths, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The Victorian oak pedestal desk retains the original pale tan colour leather, which is in good overall condition, showing some signs of age-related wear and nominal old use marks; which all add to the character and age of the desk (please see photos). The Victorian oak pedestal desk has been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the Victorian oak pedestal desk boasts a stunning golden oak colour and patination. The drawers are constructed with hand dovetail & quarter beaded joints and mahogany linings; they run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The drawers retain their original oak knobs, with working lever locks and working key. Old use, ink stains present to the drawer bottoms (please see photos). Old age-related shrinkage split to the central drawer bottom, which is secure and firm (please see photos). The back of the desk retains its original boards and the pedestals stand on working castors. This Victorian oak pedestal desk is solid in joint and ready to use.
