Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian 4ft 6” wide mahogany & leather library table, circa 1880, in good condition. The table-top features a lovely mahogany banded thumb moulded edge with bull nose corners, which surrounds a professional fitted new dark blue, gilt & blind tool leather. The table benefits from three small cock-beaded drawers at the front and two larger cock-beaded drawers at the rear; all of which retain the original mahogany turned knobs and working brass lever locks (with key). The drawer fronts benefit from stunning colour and patination, and are constructed with hand-dovetailed joints, with mahogany drawer linings. The apron is decorated with a simple moulding. The table is raised on four elegant baluster turned mahogany legs, which terminate on their original brass castors.
This type of table was designed to stand in the centre of a room, as there are working drawers to all sides of the table. This library table is a truly classic design in the style of the mid Victorian period. All in all, this is a very pretty and good quality table.
If you do not like the colour of the leather, we can replace it with a different colour leather, for an additional £300.
