Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian flame satinwood two drawer side table, circa 1860, in good original condition. Ideal for use as a desk, writing or console table. Constructed from flame satinwood, it benefits from a lovely two-plank top (sign of quality) finished with thumb moulding. Below, there are two full-length working drawers to the frieze, which retain their original foliate scroll carved mahogany handles. The mahogany lined drawers feature lovely fine hand dovetailed joints; they run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The table stands on four elegant tapered fluted legs, terminating on the original brass castors.
This item features a rich warm colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room as a side table, to the hallway as a console table, or as a writing table in a study. The drawers retain the original foliate scroll carved mahogany handles, which reflect the design of this period. There are no splits to the top and no breaks to the legs or castors. The table boasts a fantastic colour and patination. This table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
