Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian three tier dumbwaiter, also known as a buffet server, constructed from top quality mahogany timbers, by Oetzmann & Co. of Hampstead Road, London, circa 1880, in excellent original condition. The buffet features three tiers, each constructed from single mahogany planks, with gallery up-stands and simple mouldings. The tiers are supported by ring turned supports, while the topmost tier is decorated at each corner with ring turned finials. The dumbwaiter terminates on ring turned feet, resting on the original brass and mug castors. The rear of the dumbwaiter displays a label inscribed “Oetzmann & Co, Hampstead Road, London.”
The buffet features a superb rich red-brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received (it cannot be recreated by re-polishing).
This antique English buffet would look superb in any hallway or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.

Besides furniture, they also retailed in bedding carpets, china, glass & drapery and their wares were aimed towards the lower-middle class demographic.
