Description:
Here is a fine quality early Victorian mahogany dumbwaiter, also know as a buffet server, constructed from top quality mahogany timbers, circa 1840, in excellent original condition.
The buffet features three tiers, each constructed from single mahogany planks, with gallery up-stands and simple mouldings. The tiers are supported by turned fluted supports, while the topmost tier is decorated at each corner with turned segmented finials. The dumbwaiter terminates on bulbous turned feet, resting on the original brass and mug castors.
The buffet features a superb rich red-brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received (it cannot be recreated by re-polishing).
The item would look superb in any hallway or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
