Here is a fine example of a top-quality antique English Victorian mahogany Gentlemen’s spoon back armchair, circa 1850, which has been newly upholstered and is in excellent condition. The chair boasts generous proportions with a stunning quality carved & moulded solid mahogany frame, with a reclining “spoon” shaped back, upholstered scroll end carved arms, set above a serpentine shaped moulded front rail on carved cabriole legs to the front and splayed legs to the rear. The chair retains its original brass and porcelain mug castors. The quality of the timber and carvings to this chair frame is second to none compared to similar chairs on the market today. The chair has been newly upholstered to a professional standard in top quality grey structured linen look material; incorporating the original horsehair fillings, incorporating a sprung seat; it shows exceptional craftsmanship with the deep button upholstery to the back and arms. The upholstery is finished with matching braiding to the perimeter of the upholstery and traditional hessian backing to the underside. This chair is extremely comfortable, has a fantastic original patination & colour and is in excellent overall condition.

Here is a fine example of a top-quality antique English Victorian mahogany upholstered Gentlemen’s spoon back armchair, circa 1850, which is in excellent overall condition. The chair has been newly upholstered to a professional standard with top quality grey structured linen look material; therefore, the upholstery is in excellent condition and is free from any holes, damage or rips. The underside of the seat is finished with traditional hessian backing. The arms, frame and seat are completely solid and show no signs of movement. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the mahogany frame. The mahogany frame has been cleaned and French polished by hand in our workshop to revive the wonderful colour and patination of the timer. The brass and porcelain castors are also in excellent working condition. This chair is solid in joint and ready to use.
