Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian solid mahogany revolving office desk armchair, circa 1890, which has been newly upholstered in olive green leather, and is in excellent condition. The armchair boats a comfortable upholstered buttoned rectangular back, which is secured by shaped arms. The chair seat and back have been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain olive green leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The chair incorporates a revolving mechanism which rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The chair mechanism has been cleaned, restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair mechanism is not designed to recline. The chair sits on four splayed solid oak legs that terminate on top quality replacement English made brass & mug castors, which are in excellent condition. The chair frame is sturdy and the item is extremely comfortable to sit on, as it features a lovely padded seat.
The armchair features a rich brown oak colour. It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
This antique Victorian leather oak desk armchair and mechanism are in excellent overall condition, considering its age. Nominal old use marks to the frame and leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat and back have been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain olive green leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition. The adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned, restored and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair mechanism is not designed to recline. The chair features a rich oak colour, having been cleaned and professionally French polished, by hand, in our workshops. The chair features top-quality replacement English made brass & mug castors, which are also in excellent condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
