Description:
This is an attractive and good quality antique Victorian mahogany upholstered nursing chair, circa 1880, which is being sold for re-upholstery. Comprising of a scroll back, with a sprung seat, upholstered in a peach structured cotton floral pattern material. The upholstery shows signs of slight fading to the top of back and seat front, therefore, it would make an ideal upholstery project. The chair stands on mahogany turned legs at the front, terminating on steel castors and splayed legs to the rear, also with steel castors. The chair would be ideal for use as an occasional chair in the bedroom or nursery, as its extremely comfortable to sit on, or even hang clothes from.

Condition Report:
This is an attractive and good quality antique Victorian mahogany upholstered nursing chair, circa 1880, which is being sold for re-upholstery. Whilst the peach-coloured structured cotton upholstery is in good clean overall condition, there are signs of slight fading top of the back rest and seat front, it is being sold for re-upholstery and it would therefore make an ideal upholstery project. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frame but nothing significant considering its age. The mahogany legs have been French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop. Historical repair to back right leg, which is solid in joint. There is some play to frame, which would require tightening, if the chair were to be re-upholstered (this should be done once the upholstery has been stripped off, prior to the chair being re-upholstered).
