Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian solid rosewood inlaid piano duet stool, constructed in the late Victorian period, circa 1890, which has been newly upholstered to a professional stand, and is in excellent condition. The stuff-over seat has been newly upholstered in top quality patterned structured chenille upholstery, with matching braiding. If you do not like the colour/style of the upholstery, we can re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice, for an additional £40. The seat itself is firm, which means that you won’t sink into the upholstery, but at the same time, it is very comfortable to sit on. The seat is flanked by reeded scroll shaped arms, which also boast satinwood inlay in the shape of a flower. Below, the box frame is decorated with satinwood string inlay, with foliate inlay to the centre. The duet stool is raised on pretty ring turned legs, which are united by a central stretcher, for added strength. The hinged seat lifts open to reveal an internal storage compartment; ideal for the storage of sheet music, if the item is used as a piano stool. The seat lid will remain open until you close the solid brass-folding stay on the right-hand side. The compartment roof retains the original mahogany panels to the inside of the lid, as well as the original mahogany base.
This stool features a rich dark brown mahogany finish. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This Victorian piano duet stool would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom to living room. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
