Description:
This is a stunning quality set of six English antique William IV solid mahogany carved bar back dining chairs, circa 1830, in excellent overall condition. These strong and heavy chairs are designed with an attractive curved bar back, above a moulded, curved bar back splat, boasting foliate and scroll carving at either end, connected to shaped, moulded vertical supports. The seat frame is raised on turned reeded front legs, with sabre legs to the rear. This set of chairs boasts the original polish; therefore, they have a fantastic depth of colour and patination, displaying a lovely rich red and brown colour.
We purchased the chairs with the existing upholstered structured cotton cream seats shown in the photos and have professionally cleaned the seats. However, as it is old fabric, there are some nominal old used marks still present, commensurate with age of the upholstery. If you would like the seats professionally recovering in a fabric of your choice, we charge £30 labour per seat. We would ask you to supply the fabric. We can let you know how many metres of fabric are required, based on your fabric pattern repeat.
These William IV dining chairs would look good anywhere, either in a formal setting or for everyday use. They would certainly grace any home or office and are a great investment, as they are extremely functional.
