Description:
This is a fine quality antique French walnut occasional table, decorated with brass ormolu fretwork, from the 2nd Empire period, circa 1860, in excellent original condition. Exceptional craftmanship is visible in the choice of first-rate materials used and quality of the construction of this table. Constructed with a burr walnut box moulded top and a walnut frame below, the frieze is profusely decorated with floral brass plaques, flanked by brass circular reaves at the top of each leg. The circular legs are decorated with finely constructed brass collars depicting acanthus leaves, interspersed with stud work, which are repeated in a similar fashion half way down the leg and at the base of the leg too. The four legs are united by a cross-stretcher, with a circular moulded walnut centre, encompassing a brass decorative mount. The table stands on its original elegant bun feet, which are also decorated with brass collars. This antique French walnut occasional table is highly decorative, solid in joint and ready to use.

The table has been cleaned and French polished to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore it boasts a fantastic colour and patination. The brass ormolu decoration and mouldings are all original and intact. The table stands on its original bun feet. The table is solid in joint and ready to use.
