Description:
Here is a good quality antique English George I solid oak side table, circa 1720, in good original condition. This is a primitive table and would have been used in a simple country dwelling. The item features a primitive moulded two-piece oak top displaying a lovely colour and patination. Below, there are two working drawers, which feature the original primitive brassware handles and escutcheons. The drawers are elm lined, constructed with simple butt joints. Below the drawer, the table features a primitive shaped apron. The table has been made using the pegged construction method; this is evident around the body of the table. The table stands on four small-refined ring turned legs, which are united by stretchers (for added support), and terminate on simple bobbin feet. It boasts a superb mellow colour and is in good condition overall.
This item features a mellow oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This table is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and top, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawers are in good working order and close flush to the frame. The drawers retain their original working locks and original primitive brass handles and escutcheons. There is also a working key for the drawer locks. As the item boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. This table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
