Summary:
Here is a superb quality pair of 7ft 10½” wide French antique provincial cherry wood benches, circa 1860, which are very sturdy and in excellent original condition. The benches are constructed from top quality solid cherry wood using the traditional peg construction method with sturdy mortise and tenon joints. The seat ends are elegantly arched at either end to provide an attractive shape and give the benches some detail. They rest on splayed ring turned legs, united at each end by stretchers for added strength and stability. As these benches are constructed of cherry wood, there is a fantastic soft grain configuration to the seats.
As the benches boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.
They would look superb in a variety of rooms from the kitchen to the dining room. These benches would certainly grace any home and are a great investment, as they are extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
