This is a very good quality antique English Victorian button upholstered walnut chaise longue, circa 1860 – 1880, with small rare proportions. The chaise boasts (when facing) a right-hand arm and a raised sweeping. The back frame sweeps down finishing near the level of the seat. The front of the chaise has a serpentine shape, likewise the end of the chaise. The chaise is deep buttoned and is upholstered in a tightly woven finely embossed cotton damask with a repeating floral pattern. The chaise features the original brass castors, original splayed legs to the back (a sign of good quality) and original scroll end cabriole legs to the front. The frame and legs are constructed of solid walnut. This is an unusually small chaise longue, which is quite rare to see; it has the advantage of being able to fit into smaller room settings if necessary.
This item would look great in the living room, hallway or bedroom of any house. This item would compliment any home so don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
