This is a very good quality and well constructed antique mahogany duet stool, circa 1890 – 1900. The stool features a deep original mahogany patination. The stool sits on carved cabriole legs. The stool boasts a lift up lid with a storage area under the seat. The stool has been re-upholstered in fire retardant material. The stool features two “aim” rests which are connected by shaped carvings. This stool could be used as a piano stool. This is a substantially constructed piece built by good craftsmen.
Condition Report:
This item is commensurate with its age – the item is structurally firm and free of wood worm. The upholstery has been recently upholstered with fire retardant material. The fabric is clean – there are no marks or tears to the fabric.
