This is a high quality Welsh dresser base and rack of pretty design, circa 1860 – 1890 in the style of a Jacobean period dresser. The dresser boasts great craftsmanship and is completely original. The base and rack is an original match (it is not a marriage). The rack back boards are pine. The oak rack features three shelves with the original 27 iron hooks. The rack boasts a protruding canopy.
The base boasts five hand-dovetailed working drawers with the original brass knobs. The drawers are pine lined. Beneath the drawers sits the original oak pot-board. The sides of the rack are oak. The base and rack are adorned with applied oak mouldings and the drawers are edged with applied mouldings.
