Description:
Here is an example of a fine quality antique Welsh Georgian solid oak pot board farmhouse dresser base, originating from South Wales, displaying a lovely mellow colour, circa 1810, in excellent condition. The dresser is constructed with a simple moulded solid oak top, with three working drawers above a pretty shaped & pierced apron. The drawer fronts are decorated with fine moulded edges and feature period replacement brass swan neck handles and faux key escutcheons. The drawers are constructed with hand dovetail joints using traditional pine linings. The base is raised on four elegant baluster ring turned supports, united by a pot-board base below, where the planks run the length of the dresser. The dresser has been constructed in the traditional method using the joined peg construction method. The dresser has been cleaned and traditionally wax polished by hand in our workshop; therefore, the finish and colour are in excellent condition. Benefitting from a shallow depth (1ft 2⅝”), it is ideal for use in a narrow kitchen or hallway.
The dresser features a superb mellow oak colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
The dresser would look superb in any hallway, kitchen or dining room. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
