This is a good quality antique Welsh oak George III settle bench (Circa 1780 – 1800). The settle boasts shaped arms, pegged construction, four mahogany cross banded rectangular panels to the raised back and it sits on cabriole legs to the front and straight legs to the back. The settle has a pine seat.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway, dining room or kitchen. This item would certainly grace any home and a great investment as they are an extremely functional. So don’t miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
The item is in good condition commensurate with its age. The frame is original except the pine seat has been replaced a long time ago. There are splits in the two central back panels. The two front feet have been re-tipped a long time ago. Good colour / patination. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Free of active wood worm, solid in joint and ready to use.
