Here is a very good quality antique burr walnut Victorian inlaid sewing table (circa 1860). The top is veneered stunning with quarter panel burr veneers walnut and the perimeter is inlaid with satinwood and ebony in a geometric style. To the front of the table there is further inlaid satinwood and ebony stringing this is also visible on the sides and back of the sewing table. The sewing table features a pullout hand dovetailed compartmentalized sewing drawer, which is lined in pink floral upholstery. The drawer features the original working lock and key. Beneath the sewing table drawer there is a pull out sewing box drawer, which is also lined in pink & blue floral material. The table stands on solid turned walnut legs, with floral balusters at the top and tapering to a single satinwood inlaid connecting stretcher. The table stands on its original brown mug china castors.
This item features a mellow burr walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
