Here is a good quality antique English Edwardian oak revolving office armchair, featuring a Hillcrest mechanism, circa 1910, in excellent condition. The chair features a curved bar back, connected to wrap around arms, supported by an elegant splayed vertical fan back. The chair has been upholstered with top quality full grain green leather padded seat, which has been finished with brass studs to the perimeter. The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner. The chair sits on four splayed oak legs that terminate on the original castors. The chair rotates 360 degrees the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The chair is stamped ”Hillcrest, Registered Trademark, W.H.F., England” on the mechanism below the seat. The chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair also features a reclining action. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a lovely padded seat.
This item features a rich dark golden brown oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

The chair and its mechanism are in excellent working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair has been upholstered with top quality full grain green leather padded seat, which has been finished with brass studs to the perimeter. The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner. The chair mechanism has been serviced and is in excellent condition. The tension of the reclining action can be adjusted by turning the large screw and the chair can be raised or lowered on the central steel thread. The chair features its original castors, which are also in good condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the back, arms or legs. As the chair boasts its original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
