Description:
This is a fine quality antique English 17th Century William & Mary style burr oak dresser base / sideboard, displaying a lovely mellow colour, circa 1980, in excellent condition. The dresser has been constructed in the style of the later 17th century William & Mary period. The dresser boasts exceptionally good quality burr oak timbers, with a single-piece moulded top. Burr oak has also been used to constructed the drawer and cupboard doors, which exhibits a stunning grain configuration. Below, the dresser features a central column of three drawers, flanked by a cupboard on each side. The drawers and cupboard doors boast geometric moulded panelled fronts, as well as shaped brass drop handles on floral escutcheons. The drawers are oak lined and feature dovetailed construction. Furthermore, all drawers and cupboards include working lever locks, with working keys. The cupboard doors each open to reveal a 3-tier interior, with moulded shelf fronts. It is nice to see that this dresser features all its working drawers. Quite often, similar dressers have feature faux / decorative drawers down the centre but this dresser boasts all working drawers, which is a nice feature. The dresser stands on a moulded plinth, terminating on block feet and backboards are constructed from good quality solid oak boards, which is an indication of the quality of this dresser base (usually they are pine). The dresser is exceptionally well constructed, very sturdy / heavy and is ready to use.
This sideboard displays a mellow golden-brown oak colour. This sideboard is an excellent investment and would look superb in a variety of rooms from the kitchen, hall way or the living room, offering plenty of useful storage space. This dresser base would certainly grace any home

This is a fine quality antique English 17th Century William & Mary style burr oak dresser base / sideboard, displaying a lovely mellow colour, constructed with exceptionally good quality solid burr oak timbers, circa 1980, in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the top of the dresser, leading edges and both side panels. The dresser has been cleaned and French polished in our workshop to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The cupboard doors and drawer fronts feature brass drop handles on floral escutcheons, as well as working lever locks, with keys. The drawers are oak lined, with dovetail joints. The backboards are constructed from good quality solid oak boards, which is an indication of the quality of this dresser base (usually they are pine). The dresser is exceptionally well constructed, very sturdy / heavy and is ready to use.
