Description:
This is a fine quality English made 18th century Georgian style solid oak chest of drawers, with narrow proportions, circa 1995, in excellent condition. The chest has been cleaned and traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop. The chest features moulded oak tops, above a bank of five graduated drawers. The drawers are constructed with hand dovetailed oak drawer linings, oak drawer bottoms and cock beaded detail. The drawers feature the original steel swan neck handles, with the top-right drawer to each chest retaining the original working lock, with working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on their original well shaped original oak bracket feet. The back of the chest retains the original pine back boards. The chest stands firm on the ground, is solid in joint and ready to use.
The chest boasts a lovely golden oak colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This chest would look superb in a variety of rooms, from the hallway to the bedroom. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
