This is a superb quality English George III Oak & Elm Chest on Chest, circa 1770. The front of the chest is oak whereas the sides are figured elm. The chest consists of two halves. The top chest is smaller than the base chest and consists of two over three drawers. The bottom section consists of three drawers. The chest is completely original. There are 8 working drawers. It has the original backboards, original pine drawer linings and hand dovetailed drawer construction, original dentil cornice above a reeded frieze, original brass swan neck handles and the original bracket feet. The top and bottom are completely original. The chest boasts a working key to the two top drawers. This is ideal item for the bedroom to store clothes.

Condition Report:
The chest is completely original and is in excellent condition. Some nominal old use marks to the leading edges. The two top drawers feature the original working locks and key the rest are faux locks. The brass handles and escutcheons are original. Free of active worm-worm, solid in joint and ready to use. Please remember that this item is over 200 years old so there will always be some minor wear.
