The drawers feature decorative mahogany cross banding and retain the original brass swan neck handles and escutcheons, all of which are in keeping with the period. The two large outer drawers feature a working lever lock (and key) and the central large drawer has a sham lock. Lovely medullary rays are prominent to the drawer fronts. The drawers are pine lined and hand-dovetailed. The dresser boasts an elegant curved apron, which meets two smaller drawers either side of the dresser base and has raised fielded panels on each side of the dresser, typical of dressers from this area. The dresser stands on pronounced cabriole legs to the front and block legs at the back. The back of the dresser retains its original pine backboards. The dresser frame has been constructed with the traditional peg construction method.
