Constructed from fine grade mahogany timber, it the chair features a bowed top rail, which flows into two-scroll end arms. Three “gun-barrel” supporting spindles support the arms. There are two finely carved open fretwork-supporting splats either side of the spindles. The drop in seat is upholstered in a high quality floral tapestry and the seat is filled with horsehair. The chair stands on classic straight chamfered legs, which are connected by a cross stretcher for added support.
The chair features a rich deep mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
