Here is an attractive ad good quality pair of William & Mary style oak bedsides chests, circa 1970, in excellent condition made by Bevan Funnell cabinetmakers under the Reprodux brand. The bedsides have been designed in the style of the William & Mary period (from the the late 17th Century). The bedsides feature lovely moulded oak tops and panelled sides. The graduated drawers have been designed with cushion fronts and boast lovely brass swan neck handles and escutcheons. The drawer feature mahogany drawer linings and engineered timber drawer bottoms. Further detail can be seen with the pretty reeded edges to the fronts of the chests. The chests stand on elegant turned bun feet to the front of the bedsides. The chests benefit from a lovely warm oak colour.
This item would look great in a variety of rooms from the bedroom as bedsides or in the living room as lamp tables. They have a beautiful deep rich patina, which has been generated by the centuries of cleaning and care they have received.

Bevan Funnell is a famous UK maker of high quality reproduction and replica furniture. They produce branded furniture under the Reprodux brand name. The company was established in 1945, immediately after the Second World War, and was winner of the Queens award for industry in 1967 and 1970. They were the first furniture manufacturer to win this award and are still the only company of any description to have won the award twice. This is a testament to the quality of their furniture. They continue to make furniture under the Reprodux brand name today and it is widely regarded as a sign of quality.
Condition Report
The pair of bedside chests are in excellent original condition. There are no marks, scratches or stains to the tops of the chests. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawers are free running and close flush to the frame. These items are solid in joint, they do not wobble and are ready to use.
