This is a delightful and well-proportioned antique Regency mahogany commode, circa 1800 – 1830, which has been adapted into a storage box. The solid mahogany box features an attractive interior, which acts as a storage unit that has been lined in a blue cotton fleur de lis pattern. The front of the box features two cock-beaded dummy drawer fronts. The lid is cleated. The box stands on its original turned feet. This would make on excellent magazine or newspaper storage box.
This is an extremely useful piece of furniture and a great asset to have in any living room or hallway as it consumes very little space. It has a beautiful deep rich patina which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care it has received.

This item is in excellent original condition. The commode features the original polish and patination, which gives it the rich colour you see in the photos. The brass lid hinges are in excellent condition. The box has been recently re-lined and the fabric is clean and free from any marks or damage. The legs are original to the commode. Free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use.
