This is a superb quality set of six original Regency mahogany dining chairs with freshly upholstered seats, circa 1820. The set consists of four side chairs and two carver / armchairs. This is a true set of chairs (they have not been matched together). The seats have been newly upholstered in a top quality gold Italian damask material. The drops in seats are firm but comfortable. The chairs boast bar backs to the top and below, there is a floral and turned leaf carved central splats. The armchairs feature the same carvings but also feature exquisite scrolled arms. All chairs stand on elegant ring turned front legs and sabre legs to the rear (a sign of quality). The chairs are heavy in weight this is a further sign of quality.
The frames of the chairs feature a rich dark mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.

Condition Report:
This set of chairs is in excellent condition. This is a true set of chairs (they have not been matched together). The seats have been newly upholstered in a top quality gold Italian damask material. The seats are firm but comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of quality. There has been a very old repair to the backs of the chairs – this chair is perfectly solid in joint. As this set of chairs retains its original polish, it ensures there is an excellent colour and patination to the timber. This colour can only be found in furniture with its original polish it cannot be recreated with new polish. All chairs are free of woodworm, solid in joint (not loose or wobbly) and ready to use.
