Description:
This is a fine quality antique English George IV Regency solid mahogany Canterbury, with small proportions, circa 1830, in excellent original condition. The Canterbury comprises an outer frame with finely turned supports at each corner, decorated with elegant turned finials. The Canterbury is divided into four compartments, by five rows of simple supports, each row topped with a curved horizontal bar. The central divider is fixed and incorporates a carrying handle, which is really useful if you want to pick it up and move it somewhere else in the room! The compartments are ideal for storing magazines, newspapers or music sheets. Below is a drawer, which retains the original wooden knobs and is mahogany lined, constructed with fine hand dovetailing. The Canterbury is raised on its original turned legs which retain the original brass castor collars and wheels. The Canterbury has been constructed from the finest mahogany timbers. The Canterbury has been traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the patination and colour of an excellent standard.
The Canterbury features a gorgeous rich mahogany colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look great in the living room, hallway or bedroom of any house. This item would complement any home, so don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
