Description:
Here is a fine quality late 20th Century reproduction of a Tudor style dark brown carved double size (4ft 6” wide) bed, constructed of solid oak and teak, showing exceptional quality and craftsmanship, circa 1980, in excellent condition.
This is fine quality bed is finished in a dark brown oak colour, having been handmade from a combination of oak and teak. The bed is in the style of the English Tudor period, which dates between 1500 to 1530. This bed shows exceptional craftsmanship. All panels are detachable for ease of transport, access into a house and assembly. This bed fits a standard UK double size mattress (4 6ft” wide x 6ft 3” long).
The headboard can be dismantled into panels (if necessary) to allow easy access up narrow staircases or through doorways. The headboard is constructed of three main arched ‘flowerpotte’ carved panels, framed by vine and arabesque carvings. Towards the bottom of the headboard are two inset panels, divided by a small flower carving. The sections, including the stiles are interspersed by formal strap work arabesque rails defined by a sunken matted ground.
The footboard boasts sunflower carved panels, flanked by formal strapwork arabesque rails defined by a sunken matted ground. The footboard corner blocks feature profuse grape vine floral carvings. The side rails feature formal sectioned strapwork arabesque rails defined by a sunken matted ground, secured by carved corbels at either end.
This Tudor style double bed is accentuated with style, romance and tradition. The impression created by this bed will without doubt be a memorable one as they are genuinely unique and recreate the ultimate in luxury of a bygone age.
This bed is not to be confused with other Tudor style reproduction beds of lesser quality in the market place today. This bed is handmade; with carved panels, unlike other machine carved beds. The design, build quality and superstructure (thickness of panels) are of superior and exceptional quality. It is an extremely heavy bed!

This bed is in excellent condition. It is an extremely well-constructed, heavy, solid and very stable bed. There are no veneers on this bed, either; it is made of completely solid oak and teak. There is also no damage to the bed. The bed boasts exquisite carvings, un-paralleled in terms of detail, intricacy and quality. The polish is also in good condition. This bed is of superior quality and construction, compared to other reproduction beds in the market place today. It is solid in joint and ready to use.
