Description:
This is a good quality pair of vintage English Georgian style flame mahogany bow front bachelor chests of drawers, circa 1950, in excellent original condition. The chests boast stunning veneers to the tops and drawer fronts, with a lovely grain configuration and colour. The chests comprise moulded tops above a bank of four drawers. The drawers feature the original brass swan neck handles and shaped brass escutcheons. Furthermore, the drawers are mahogany lined, with dovetail construction and quality cock beaded drawer fronts. The chests display a moulded base and terminate on the original shaped bracket feet. The chests also feature their original backboards and are ideal for the bedroom or landing for storing clothes. These smaller chests can either be used as bedsides or as a pair of chests of drawers in the bedroom
The chests boast rich brown mahogany colours. They have a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.

Condition Report:
This Georgian style pair of bow front chests of drawers is in excellent condition. The chests have been traditionally French polished by hand in our workshop, to a professional standard. They therefore boast a fantastic colour. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and inside of drawers, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. All drawers feature the original brass swan neck handles, escutcheons and close flush to the frame. The chests retain their original working brass lever locks with key. The chests also stand on their original bracket feet and retain their original backboards. They are solid in joint, do not wobble and are ready to be used.
