This is a superb quality set of 12 oak and leather Arts & Crafts dining / office chairs with red leather seats and brass studding, circa 1910 – 1920 having originated from Leek Council boardroom in Staffordshire. This is an original set of side chairs (not matched). The chairs boast a pretty splayed backrest with leather padded back which brass studding flanks. The underside of the backrest features a pretty art noveau carved frieze design. All chairs leather seats again, flanked by brass studding. The chairs features square legs and rear sabre legs (a sign of good quality). The legs are supported by a cross-stretcher for additional strength. The undersides of the seats are designed with traditional webbing. All chairs are made from top quality solid oak.
Eight chairs are 2ft 11” tall and four chairs are 3ft 1¼ tall. This is an original set of chairs they are not matched together. The reason for difference in chair height was that the taller chairs were situated at the end of two tables and the chairs at the ends of the tables are always supposed to be taller.

Condition Report:
These chairs are in excellent condition. The leather seats and webbing are original and most importantly, there are no rips or tears in the leather seats. There is an excellent colour / patination to the oak chair frames. There are no scratches or damage to any of the chairs frames.
