Description:
Here is a good quality antique English 17th Century style 7ft 2⅝” solid oak farmhouse kitchen refectory table, circa 1980, which seats up to 10 people, in excellent condition. The table top comprises five solid oak planks with cleated ends. The table has been constructed in the traditional manner with mortise and tenon joints, and then pegged, with a straight frieze each side, decorated with subtle corner spandrels at either end. The table is raised on baluster turned legs, on block feet, which are united by a central stretcher along the length of the table, and a further stretcher on each end. The table top features a lovely colour & grain configuration, having been wax-polished in our workshop. The table will seat up to 10 people, or 8 people with plenty of room (please see photos with chairs around the table). Benefitting from a central stretcher, it allows you to conveniently place kitchen chairs under the table, without any restrictions, unlike earlier tables that have stretchers positioned on the outside of the legs, which prevents you placing the chairs under the table. It is also sufficiently tall enough to fit your legs underneath and is sufficiently wide to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table. The table has been solidly constructed and is of good quality. The table dismantles into 2 sections (tabletop & frame), facilitating easier lifting and carrying.
The table boasts a rich dark brown oak colour. This table would look superb in a variety of rooms from the kitchen to the dining room. This item would certainly grace any home. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
