This is a very good quality antique art deco burr walnut maple chest of drawers, circa 1930, in good original condition. It is rare to see an Art Deco chest constructed using such good quality mirror matched figured walnut veneers, on a solid frame. This chest is certainly a cut above the rest on the market. The chest has been constructed with a “skyscraper” design, with a shallower drawer to the top section, with a moulded curved frame, boasting elegant seashell carved corners to the moulding, in-between the five larger drawers below. The drawers boast their original chrome handles and mahogany lined dovetailed drawers. The chest stands on its original splayed bracket feet. This piece boasts classic art deco styling in the overall design of the curved corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the feet.
The chest features a lovely rich figured walnut art deco colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the bedroom. This item would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
