Condition Report:
The coffer and carvings are original. The coffer features the original carvings to the top and front, original iron loop hinges and the original floor and back. The coffer features a working lock and key which has been replaced a long time ago. There are small splits to the top two panels. The top left hand panel has been repaired from the underside a long time ago. The styles (legs) have worn down in length possibly due to the wear it has received over the years having been in contact with the floor. There is some saw damage to the corner of the lid on the left right hand side (see photo) which has occurred a long time ago. The coffer is free of woodworm, solid in joint and ready to use. Considering the age of this coffer, it is in very good condition and does not detract from its attractive appeal.
